When the bonds that held the empire together broke, governors and nobles from each continent and region declared independence. After a period of chaos, the empire—now a mere name—came to be governed by seven powerful houses holding the title of ‘Elector’, each ruling their own domains under the legacy of the empire. These seven great houses cooperate under the name of the ‘Imperial Council’ on the surface, but in reality, each house is independent, with endless power competitions and conspiracies rampant under their own autonomy. The external threats and the chaotic empire are like a lantern before a storm.
