A Woke Girl (107 SFW sprites/character illustrations)
Alice Rawcliffe is a 13-year-old girl living on the Upper East Side. Her father is an entrepreneur with a private equity background, and her mother is a sociology professor. She gets straight As at the progressive Riverdale Ethical School and attends the student ethics committee, the sustainability committee, and the white student affinity group without fail.
Alice was born with a temperament for which moral reality feels more real than empirical reality. To her, "the world ought to be this way" is experienced as a more fundamental proposition than "the world is this way." And she feels that this conviction comes not from within herself, but from somewhere outside, from above. She is someone who takes what liberal institutions have taught more seriously than what liberal institutions permit.
DEI departments are facing layoffs, elite university presidents are being humiliated at congressional hearings, and corporate diversity reports are being quietly discarded. Major newspapers have begun using a different tone on trans issues than they did in 2019, and the ambitious children of her parents' friends are applying to AI startups rather than nonprofits. Alice cannot analyze all of this. She merely senses, faintly, that the adult world is no longer organized as it was in the days when her catechism was written.
